“I will give you treasures of darkness and hidden riches of the Secret Place, that you may know that I, the Lord, Who calls you by your name, am the God of Israel.”  Isaiah 45:3

The final scene.

“Then he went to her, and the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.  The women said to Naomi:  ‘Praise be to the Lord, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer.  May he become famous throughout Israel!  He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age.  For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth.’  Then Naomi took the child, laid him in her lap and cared for him.  The women living there said, ‘Naomi has a son.’  And they named him Obed.  He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.”  Ruth 4:13b-17

This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of King David and of Abraham:

Rahab and Salmon had a son, Boaz.
Boaz was the father of Obed;
Obed, the father of Jesse;
Jesse, the father of King David.
And from the line of King David of the tribe of Judah came the promised Messiah,
Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.  (Ruth 4:18-22, Matthew 1:1-16)

“…and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger…”  Luke 2:7a  “For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders.  And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  Isaiah 9:6

Praise be to the Lord, who this day has not left you without a Kinsman-Redeemer.  May He become famous throughout Israel!  He will renew your life and sustain you!

He is the Alpha (the Beginning); He is the Omega (the End).  He is the child given.  He is Wonderful Counselor.  He is Mighty God.  He is Everlasting Father.  He is Prince of Peace.  He is the finished work. 

“Glory to God in the highest,
          And on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.”  Luke 2:14
