“I will give you treasures of darkness and hidden riches of the Secret Place, that you may know that I, the Lord, Who calls you by your name, am the God of Israel.”  Isaiah 45:3

“So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife.”  Ruth 4:13a

At last…his love has come along.

Let’s talk about Cinderella again.  Ruth is a lot like Cinderella…so are we.  Our Prince finds us in our poverty, seeks us with all His authority and welcomes us into His Palace—no matter who tries to hold us down, keep us back, dishearten us, destroy us, no matter what our past, no matter our social status, no matter what!  He wants us to live with Him happily ever after, and He will stop at nothing to bring us there.

Weddings and marriages are very important to the Father.  After all, this covenant relationship was His idea, and it began in the Garden of Eden:  “The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’ …So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh.  Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man.  The man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man.’  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.”  Genesis 2:18, 21-24

Jesus’ first miracle is at a Wedding Feast in Cana.
“This, the first of His miraculous signs, Jesus performed at (a wedding in) Cana in Galilee.  He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples put their faith in Him.”  John 2:11

And the last is a Wedding Feast throughout eternity.
“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:  ‘Hallelujah!  For our God Almighty reigns.  Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!  For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.  Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.’”  Revelation 19:6-8

I Am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”  Revelation 22:13

Our King, our Bridegroom, is waiting……

He is wooing us, courting us and desiring our lives to be one with His so badly that He can hardly stand it:
“You have stolen My heart, My sister, My bride; you have stolen My heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.  How delightful is your love, My sister, My bride!  How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice!”  Song of Songs 4:9-10 Oh, how He longs to hear:
“Take me away with You—let us hurry!  Let the King bring me into His chambers.”  Song of Songs 1:4

He loves us with an everlasting love:
“God is love. (period)  In this way, love is made complete…”  I John 4:16b, 17

He will never leave us for someone else.  He loves us just the way we are:
“The King is enthralled by your beauty.”  Psalm 45:11a

He is a mighty Warrior King, and He will stop at nothing to protect His bride:
“You are the most excellent of men and Your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed You forever.  Gird Your sword upon Your side, O Mighty One; clothe Yourself with splendor and majesty.  In Your majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and righteousness; let Your right hand display awesome deeds.  Let Your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the King’s enemies; let the nations fall beneath Your feet…at Your right hand is the royal bride.”  Psalm 45:2-5;9b

I am my Beloved’s, and He is mine:
“I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God.  For He has clothed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”  Isaiah 61:10

Our lives should be a love song written to, written by and written for the Father.  Our bridegroom is waiting…patiently waiting.  But, He won’t wait forever:
“He said to me, ‘It is done.  I AM the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.’”  Revelation 21:6a

“Behold, I am coming soon!  My reward is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’  And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’  Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”  Revelation 22:12,17
